8th December 2022, Thursday, Flic en Flac
Today we went on our solo expedition to Flic en Flac which we discovered is a huge sandy bay. The sea is warm as I found out when I decided to paddle but you have to be careful not to step on the broken pieces of coral. I think the bay is ringed by a coral reef but I need to find out.
For Thomas’ information I managed to get into 3 gyms after doing battle!
I visited a souvenir shop but I didn’t buy anything as the prices seemed very high but when I chatted to the shopkeeper I found out that I was supposed to “ negotiate.”
He told me to visit his home town of Curepipe which is situated in a huge volcanic crater, now extinct, so hopefully when I discover how to get there we will.
After a return visit to the Super U we returned “home” and I set myself the challenge of cleaning the BBQ. It was a big task as it obviously hadn’t been cleaned for a very, very long time.
By the time I finished it was fit for us to use and as Jason and Vicky were late back Geoff and I gave it a trial run.
We have been accepted by the dog and the oldest cat but the younger cat is still very timid and hasn’t really settled from its trip from Taiwan yet so new people are a step too far.
Vicky wanted to watch the Netflix show about Harry and Meghan so we saw the first episode.
